The plot: The plot is cliche in my opinion but still a good plot. The character finds out that he's supposed to die and the grim reaper gives him the chance to fulfill his dream which is to die in his sleep.Art Style: The art style is just so vivid and mesmerizing. Very eye-catching and retro color theme. The characters are well designed and just so adorable. The villains are very unique as well. Gameplay: This game is your typically side-scroller, platformer game with the added bonus of random twists and turns where you least expect it. My favorite aspect of this game is that I'm always on my toes when playing through each act. Soundtrack: The soundtrack is just breathtaking! I immediately purchased the soundtrack after hearing a few clippets. I am the type of person to rage quit quite often during games. However, this game was different. I was immersed in the game by the artwork, story, and soundtrack. The cut-scenes are just beautiful and so heart-warming that whenever I'm at the verge of quitting, I just can't stop. This game overall is a 10\/10. IMO it's worth more than $12.99, I'd definitely would recommend this game to everyone of all ages!. Patch Notes (1.5.2) — Squashing Typos: This small patch fixes several typos in English and in French.Big thanks to Robin who caught a lot of them!Geoffroy,on behalf on the team.. Patch Notes (1.5.0) — Gamepad support!: Along the Edge v1.5.0 is now live for everyone! The game is now fully compatible with Xbox and Steam controllers.Full patch notes :- engine improvements for better performance (animations, texts loading, assets management),- the game is now fully compatible with game-pads (Xbox controllers, Steam controller),- added a "fast skip" feature: long press on "space" on keyboard or the "A" button on game-pad now quickly skips texts and dialog (thanks for everyone who suggested it),- launching a save in the "game over" state now shows you the achievements you've unlocked during your play-through instead of bringing you back to the main menu,- fixed several minor bugs and glitches.Enjoy,Geoffroy.. Are you a witch or a scientist?: In some aspects, Along the Edge is quite like a personality test. As you pick between different dialog lines, the system updates the personality map of Daphné, the main character. So, when the story comes to an end, the choices you’ve made throughout the game will change her into a very different person from one play-through to another. We built an online personality test to show a little glimpse of the game’s mood. You can take it here:http://alongtheedge-game.com/personality-test/. Patch Notes (1.3.1): First of all, on behalf of the whole team, I'd like to extend a big "thank you" for the warm welcome we received here, from the Steam Community!Your nice words and comments mean a lot to the team.We have updated the game to version 1.3.1, here is what we have fixed:- updated English and French translation,- corrected a bug preventing “Sound in Mind” achievement from unlocking correctly,- fixed a story inconstancy in Chapter 4,- unlocked achievements now synchronize with Steam when you launch the game.Edit (10/25/2016): Achievement "Sound in Mind" should now unlock correctly on every system. Thank you for your patience!Special thanks to Alexandra, Leondre and Sharisad for reporting several typos, and to Ahil, Epilexia, Hendumaica and Soulless_Drake for taking the time to explain the bugs they encountered. Yours,Geoffroy.PS: We just released a set of Steam Trading Cards for Along the Edge. Enjoy!. Patch Notes (1.3.4): We have a few quality of life improvements to announce for this patch :- added full keyboard support (in-game). Citadale - The Ancestral Strain Blade of Acrimony Fly in the House Along the Edge Newsletter #12 — May 2019: Hello everyone! These last few months (sorry for the lack of communication, we've been quite busy), we came and went to San Francisco, we welcomed a new studio in our co-working space in "Les Chartrons", and we have a couple of events planned in the very near future. We went to San Francisco. Newsletter #11 — January 2019: Hello everyone! We wish you all a happy new year! This month, we will talk about San Francisco and New York with two events coming up for Nova-box.Animation First Festival in New-York this weekend. Newsletter #9 — November 2018: Hello everyone! This month, we welcomed a new housemate (again). Also, we wanted to tell you about Black Friday sales and share some tidbits about our next game. Manufacture 43 moved in with us. Announcing our next game: Seers Isle: After working for the few last months in complete secrecy, we're very proud to announce our next narrative game: Seers Isle. This new project is both a continuation and a departure from Along the Edge. We kept the same gameplay (or lack thereof) and, like its predecessor, Seers Isle is first and foremost an interactive story where all your choices shape the relationships and personalities of the main characters, but we tried to innovate on every other fronts. The fact that I talk about the "main characters" (plural) is not innocent, of course. We did things a bit differently this time around, and you'll discover the storytelling evolves from chapter to chapter from an hidden narrator with a "choral" approach to a more classic "first person" point of view. Also, As you'll notice in the screenshot here above, the presentation of the game is much more reminiscent of a European comic-book, with speech balloons freely moving above the gorgeous artworks of Nicolas Fouqué.We also have some surprises on the soundtrack side, but I'll make a special blog post about it (yes, I do believe it deserves its own blog post indeed). For the story in itself, we went for a fantasy setting, a dreamlike version of medieval Northern Europe, mixed with some South American influences, where shamans seek the guidance of strange horned spirits, the eponymous "Seers", on a mystic island. So, without further ado, here's a short writeup of the scenario, hoping it would spark up your palate:“The island… It was my prison. For ages, I roamed the land, helpless, looking for a way out…… And then, they arrived.”A group of shaman apprentices set foot on the shores of a sacred island to be initiated to magic. As they progress through the wilderness, looking for the “Seers”, their spirit-guides, they realize they’re not alone.Who is this strange horned woman they are seeing in their dreams? If this new venture picked your interest, please take a look at the official website: seersisle.com, or follow us on social networks, either Seers Isle's Facebook Page or Nova-box's Twitter. And, of course, you can add it to wishlist to be notified about the release.http://store.steampowered.com/app/738650/Seers_Isle/Yours,Geoffroy.
